COATING MATERIALS
Coating materials must be sourced from approved paint manufacturers and suppliers in accordance with customer-approved processes/specifications.
If required by specifications, a performance test of the paint should be carried out in the workplace before starting the painting operation. Performance test results must meet customer requirements.
Inspection of paint - visual inspection, color label on each container, color batch certificate, paint should not be used after the specified expiration date.
Store paint materials in a cool, dry place according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Blasting Media Size and Quality - Visually inspect and check the blasting media label before starting the blasting process. Abrasives must be free of oil, grease, moisture, salt, rust, and contaminants when specified by the specification conductivity test.
Thinner – thickens paint. Usually caused by long-term storage. There is no need to add more than 5% thinner if thickening prevents proper brush/spray application. In all cases, you should use a thinner recommended or approved by the paint manufacturer.
